Rep. Terri Leo Wilson applauds Rollover Pass Pier project

Rep. Terri Leo Wilson has expressed her gratitude to Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham and the Texas General Land Office (GLO) for their dedication to coastal preservation and the commencement of construction on the Rollover Pass Pier. This announcement was made through a press release issued on March 27.

According to the press release, the Rollover Pass Project, managed by the GLO, will feature a 1,000-foot fishing pier, a Bayside Park, and enhancements to the Lauderdale Boat Ramp and Dock. The pier is set to include lighting, handicap accessibility, a bait shop, a fish cleaning station, a visitor parking lot, and a dune walkover. Construction is expected to last 15 months with completion anticipated by July 2026.

"I want to extend my sincere thanks to Commissioner Buckingham and the GLO for their commitment to our coastal communities," said Rep. Terri Leo Wilson in the press release. She emphasized that "the construction of the new Rollover Pass Pier is an asset to the region’s tourism and recreational economy." Wilson added that this project will enhance fishing opportunities, provide accessible facilities for all visitors, and contribute to ongoing efforts in preserving and protecting Texas's coastline.
