Public hearing set for Texas finance agencies' fiscal year 2025 budget proposals

The Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner, the Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending, and the Texas Department of Banking will conduct a public hearing to receive public comment on their proposed budgets for fiscal year 2025. The hearing is scheduled for August 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the State Finance Commission Building, located at 2601 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas, in the William F. Aldridge Hearing Room (Third Floor). The event will be webcast live. Registration for the webcast can be completed by visiting www.fc.texas.gov.

During the hearing, the agencies will present their proposed budgets for fiscal year 2025 and invite public comment. Copies of these proposed budgets were published on August 1, 2024, on the agencies’ respective websites: www.occc.texas.gov, www.sml.texas.gov, and www.dob.texas.gov. A recording of the hearing will be accessible on www.fc.texas.gov after August 8, 2024.

Written comments on the proposed budgets may be submitted to Antonia Antov, Director of Operations at the Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending via email at aantov@sml.texas.gov or through their website at www.sml.texas.gov. Comments must be submitted by Monday, August 5, 2024.
