The Texas Oil and Gas Association (TXOGA) announced promotions of two members of senior staff, naming both Vice Presidents of Government and Regulatory Affairs.
TXOGA President Todd Staples announced that Shana Joyce and Tulsi Oberbeck would both be promoted on April 5.
Joyce previously worked with the Public Utility Commission for five years as the Senior Policy Advisor. Before that she was a policy advisor to Governor Rick Perry in the Budget, Planning, and Policy Division.
Oberbeck served in the Texas Senate for both Chairman Kip Averitt and Chairman Tommy Williams, advising on issues such as natural resources, transportation, and Articles IV, V, and VI in the budget. Before that, she worked in legislation for the Texas Water Development Board.
“Oil and natural gas fuel modern life, and this industry plays an indispensable role in providing affordable, reliable energy to our nation and world, so we need skilled and knowledgeable advocates in the Texas Capitol and before key regulatory agencies,” Staples said in the announcement. “TXOGA is fortunate to have an outstanding legislative team with years of experience and established relationships that help keep this crucial industry growing and serving Texans.”
“Shana and Tulsi are highly capable and integral to our Association and its members, and they are central to our efforts to support sound, science-based policies and free-market principles,” Staples said. “I congratulate them both on these well-deserved promotions and look forward to our continued work together.”
According to the Texas Oil & Gas Association, Todd Staples was named President of the Texas Oil and Gas Association in November of 2014. Previously, Staples served as the Texas Agriculture Commissioner.
