The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has announced an extension for the application deadline of the New Technology Implementation Grants (NTIG) Program. The new deadline is set for 5:00 p.m. CST on January 31, 2025. This program offers approximately $10.9 million in grants aimed at reducing emissions from facilities and other stationary sources across Texas.
The NTIG Program focuses on three types of projects: electricity storage projects for renewable energy, new technology projects that reduce emissions from stationary sources, and those that target emissions reductions in the oil and gas industry, covering upstream, midstream, and downstream activities.
Eligible applicants include a range of entities such as individuals, corporations, organizations, government bodies or subdivisions, business trusts, partnerships, associations, or other legal entities. To qualify for these grants, applicants must own or operate a stationary source within Texas.
Key aspects of the program are:
- TCEQ will cover up to 50% of eligible project costs.
- Grant recipients must fund at least half of their project's implementation costs.
- Projects will be assessed based on criteria like emissions reduction potential and cost-effectiveness.
- At least $1 million is allocated specifically for electricity storage projects related to renewable energy.
Further details about eligibility requirements and application instructions can be found on the NTIG Program webpage.
