Man charged with human trafficking after missing girl is found

Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies rescued a 15-year-old girl from a life of prostitution and take a repeat offender off the street in the process.

Jerreck Hillard, 31, was taken into custody at his apartment in the 7300 block of Ardmore and charged with human trafficking and compelling prostitution of a minor, KTRK reported. At the time of his arrest, Hillard was out on bond for three felony charges.

The girl, who was not identified due to her age, had been missing since April. She was safely returned to her home. Also arrested was Hillard’s roommate, 35-year-old Korey Alan Burton with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Upon entry to the apartment, deputies discovered more than 350 grams of ecstasy.

“Child sex trafficking is a despicable crime,” Harris County Precinct 5 Constable Ted Heap told KTRK. “Thanks to the hard work of our Major Offenders Division and the DPS, we were able to get this teenage victim out of harm’s way and back home."
