Pair arrested in Oklahoma for human trafficking of a Texas teen

The discovery of a missing Texas teenager on a local ad for prostitution resulted in the arrest of two people in Tulsa, Oklahoma on suspicion of human trafficking.

Whitney Lambert and Timothy Davis were arrested after Tulsa Police officers allegedly found them in a hotel room with the 17-year-old girl, the probable cause affidavit said, according to the Tulsa World.

The teen was rescued after an undercover officer set up a meeting through the alleged prostitution advertisement first spotted by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services on June 8. The officer found the teenager, Lambert, and Davis at the Gateway Motor Inn in Tulsa.

“(The teenager) made statements that Davis looks after her and let her come to his room. (The teenager) also stated that she asked if her friend could see her there," the affidavit said, Tulsa World reported.

Lambert is allegedly homeless and told police that she had worked as a prostitute. She accompanied the teen to the hotel but denied aiding the teenager in prostitution, Tulsa World reported.

The suspects were taken to the Tulsa County Jail on complaints of human trafficking and were being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond. On July 6, Davis was still in custody on the human trafficking case and a charge of receiving, possessing or concealing stolen property worth less than $1,000, according to jail records.

Davis, 28, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment, where a public defender was appointed to represent him. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 17.
