A section of the Texas Department of Public Safety Mobile Application, known as the Texas DPS app, is now dedicated to combating human trafficking, according to an overview of the app on the Texas Department of Public Safety's website.
"The Texas Department of Public Safety mobile app presents a new interactive way to protect and serve the people of Texas," the department's online page about the app says.
The Texas DPS mobile app allows users to easily explore topics and access resources such as the state's Sex Offender Registry and the Texas 10 Most Wanted lists.
January has been Human Trafficking Prevention Month, so the app's section on human trafficking is very applicable this month, placing information and resources into the palm of a user's hand.
The Texas DPS app provides an entire section dedicated to human trafficking. With a few taps, users can access information about legislation, threat assessments, stories, child exploitation and other human trafficking topics. It also provides maps identifying dangerous areas and information about where to find local human trafficking resources.
The app is free and available for both iPhone and Android users.
