Californians flooding Texas could impact presidential election

The large number of Californians migrating to Texas may have a huge effect on the 2020 election.

The latest report from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that more than 86,000 Californians migrated from to Texas in 2018. Since California is a Democratic State, this could change the course of the 2020 presidential election, Fox News recently reported.

For the most part, Texas has been a red state. This means the majority of Texas voters are Republicans. The question looming is how will the former California residents vote when the booths open in November.

Kristen Soltis Anderson, who is a Fox News contributor and pollster, said in the news report that Texas isn't considered a "swing state," but the votes will be a sight to see during this election cycle.

"While Texas might not typically be thought of as a swing state, fresh polling shows the 2020 race getting potentially close," Kristen Soltis Anderson says.

"In 2018, there were 86,164 Californians who moved to the state of Texas," Anderson added.
