According to Forbes, Texas is ranked as one of the healthiest states in terms of business growth.
Texas was No. 1 for growth prospects, which takes into account factors including job, income and gross state product growth forecasts for the next five years. While a number of factors play into the Lone Star State's ranking, one is related to the fact that Apple broke ground on a new $1 billion campus in Austin. In addition to Apple's expansion in Texas, the state is also home to the fourth highest number of businesses being started by Texans.
The business-friendly culture of Texas has made it a mecca for companies of all sizes, and the state boasts low rates of workers who are in unions, low tax rates and even lower costs of doing business than others. Texas is currently surpassed by only North Carolina as the best state for business.
