AUSTIN – Commissioner Sid Miller has issued a call for a statewide ban on non-water additives, such as fluoride, in Texas public water systems. In his statement, Miller emphasized the importance of freedom of choice and urged Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Legislature to prioritize this initiative.

"A fundamental American value is the freedom of choice. This is why I call on Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Legislature to prioritize a statewide ban on non-water additives, such as fluoride, in our public water," said Miller. He highlighted the need to improve Texas' aging water infrastructure while ensuring that it is not used for distributing government-mandated chemicals without public consent.

Miller expressed support for similar efforts in other states including Florida, Utah, Tennessee, New Hampshire, and North Dakota. He also acknowledged Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former President Donald J. Trump for their leadership in opposing forced government health decisions.

The commissioner pointed out that cities like Abilene have already taken steps to give residents the right to choose whether they want additives in their water supply. "While I have always fought to preserve our water supply, we must also protect its purity," he stated.

Miller stressed that private businesses and individuals should be able to sell and purchase water with additives if they choose but opposed mandatory inclusion by governmental authorities. "Texans deserve clean, unaltered water, free from additives they did not choose," he concluded.
