Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Walter “Frank” Coppersmith, III and Keith Halman to the Department of Information Resources. Their terms are set to expire on February 1, 2031. The Board's role is to coordinate, monitor, and direct information resources management within the state government.

Walter “Frank” Coppersmith, III from Round Rock serves as CEO of Smarter Reality, LLC. He is associated with various organizations including the State Bar of Texas and Maryland State Bar Association. Coppersmith has previously held positions such as president of the International Game Developers Association–Austin Chapter. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Citadel, an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Juris Doctor from Samford University Cumberland School of Law.

Keith Halman from Lubbock holds the position of associate vice chancellor and chief information officer for the Texas Tech University System. He is also on the board of the Lonestar Education and Research Network. Halman earned his degrees in Business Administration in Information Systems and Management Information Systems from Texas Tech University.

These appointments await Senate confirmation.
