Brad Buckley, Chairman of the Texas House Public Education Committee, said the curriculum is classical content, not religious, and it includes a parental portal to allow parents to see what their children are being taught and help them at home. Buckley was a guest on a recent episode of the Texas Talks Podcast.

“It's certainly not religious text or religious curriculum, but it's classical content," said Buckley on a recent edition of the Texas Talks Podcast. “I think it's going to be something that's going to be popular amongst many parents that really want that return to a back-to-basics sort of curriculum to be considered.”

“Our state curriculum does, and any other material that is approved by the state board as high quality, will have a parental portal where there's tremendous transparency, where parents know what their kids are being taught because they deserve to know," said Buckley. “They deserve to know the content, but also they need to be able to take a peek so they can be part of the process at home. Parents need to know where their kids are, they need to know what they're being taught, and they need to know how to help them at home."

State Representative Brad Buckley is in his third term representing House District 54, chairs the House Public Education Committee, and serves on the House Land and Resource Management Committee.
