Having served District 41 for more than 10 years, Rep. Bobby Guerra is running for re-election in November 2024.

Guerra graduated from Pan American University and earned his law degree from Texas Southern University Law School. He was honored with the title of a Texas Super Lawyer from 2006-2011 and is a founding member of Guerra & Sabo P.L.L.C, according to the Texas House of Representatives website

While he continues his service to the public as a Democratic representative for District 41, Guerra also serves as chairman of the Hidalgo County Democratic Party and the president of the Board of Directors for the University of Texas-Pan American Alumni Association.

First elected in 2012, Guerra continues to act in service of his district for his fifth term in a row.

Currently, Guerra highlights three main issues in his campaign for reelection: Education, affordable healthcare and increasing the quality of infrastructure.

Guerra fought to add an additional $3.4 billion to the public school funding system and believes that high-quality education will lead to a harder working and better-informed workforce of the future. He also has passed much legislation relating to increasing public health, for example, strengthening the children’s immunization program and reducing the heavy burdens placed on managed care providers.

To keep up with important demand, Guerra said that District 41 is a quickly developing area for commerce travel and that their infrastructure needs to be improved.

The general elections for state representatives in Texas will occur on Nov. 5, 2024, Ballotpedia reported. The primary will be March 5 with the primary runoff on May 28. As of this month, the party control of Texas is split; there are 64 in the Democratic Party and 86 in the Republican Party, with a total of 150 members.
