A former teacher at Livingston High School faces charges after city police officers allegedly found child pornography on his home computer.
Brian Edward Spivey, 61, of Livingston, was arrested on a third-degree possession of child pornography charge, KTRE reported
Livingston Independent School District’s (LISD) communications director, Jennifer Birdwell, confirmed that Spivey had been a high school teacher. The LISD issued a statement that said he resigned on May 29.
“Despite the employee’s bad acts, we know of no LISD students who were ever at risk at this time,” Dr. Brent Hawkins, Livingston ISD’s superintendent, said in the statement, KTRE reported.
The Livingston Police Department were notified by the school system on May 28 that allegedly inappropriate searches were made on an LISD computer by Spivey.
Spivey’s home computer and LISD computer were taken by police for a forensic examination. Police allege child pornography was found on the home computer, KTRE reported.
Spivey was arrested at his home.
Polk County Jail listed Spivey as being held on three counts of possession of child pornography on June 6.
