On Wednesday, April 16, over 100 juvenile justice professionals from across Texas assembled at the State Capitol to receive recognition from the House and Senate for their dedication to serving youth in the state.

Texas' juvenile justice system leaders were acknowledged on the House floor for their commitment to public service. Among the figures honored were TJJD Board Chairman Manny Ramirez, TJJD Board Member Shawn Thierry, TJJD Executive Director Shandra Carter, Dallas County Juvenile Probation Chief and Advisory Council Chairman Lynn Hadnot, Lubbock County Juvenile Probation Chief William Carter, and TJJD Deputy Director of State Operations Bill Parks.

Special appreciation was extended to Senator Charles Perry and Representative David Cook for crafting resolutions that commend the diligent efforts of these public servants.

The event celebrated the unwavering service of these leaders, who, according to the press release, "diligently exemplify the heart of our mission: keeping communities safe and supporting Texas' most vulnerable youth."
