The House Committee on Public Education, led by Chairman Brad Buckley, approved the Committee Substitute for SB 2 (CSSB2), moving it to the Texas House floor. This marks only the second time in over ten years that school choice legislation has reached this stage in the House.

"This is a pivotal moment for the children and parents of Texas," said TPPF CEO Greg Sindelar. He acknowledged Chairman Buckley and House Speaker Dustin Burrows for their commitment to empowering parents, suggesting that this development brings Texas children closer to education freedom.

Mandy Drogin, TPPF’s Next Generation Texas Campaign Director, commented on the significance of the upcoming debate in the Texas House. "The upcoming debate on the floor of the Texas House will be one for the history books," she said. Drogin expressed confidence that a strong majority of state representatives would support children and parents alongside key state leaders.
