Governor Abbott appoints three to family services council

Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Tymothy Belseth and the reappointment of Julie Krawczyk and Enrique Mata to the Family and Protective Services Council. Their terms will extend until February 1, 2031. The Council's role is to study and provide recommendations to the commissioner on managing and operating the Department of Family and Protective Services.

Tymothy Belseth, from Pflugerville, leads the UT Spark Program. He serves on several boards including FosterClub, Education Reach for Texans, and Change I. Additionally, he is part of a training committee for the Supreme Court of Texas – Children’s Commission. Belseth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M University Kingsville and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Texas State University.

Julie Krawczyk, based in Garland, directs Elder Financial Safety at The Senior Source. She also presides over the Adult Protective Services of Dallas Community Board and is vice-president of the Texas Partners of Adult Protective Services state board. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and English from Southern Vermont College and a Master of Arts in Management from Dallas Baptist University.

Enrique Mata from El Paso serves as executive director at Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute's Paso del Norte Center. His previous experience includes working as a senior program officer with Paso del Norte Health Foundation. Mata holds certifications as an advanced public health nurse and advanced nurse executive by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He participates in organizations such as the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, UT El Paso Alumni Association, UT El Paso School of Nursing Advisory Board, and El Paso Behavioral Health Consortium. Mata earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UT El Paso and a Master of Science in Public Health from Walden University.
