The Texas Historical Commission (THC) is marking the holiday season with a series of events and a special inaugural ornament. The THC has introduced its first annual holiday ornament, featuring the Fulton Mansion State Historic Site, as part of a new tradition. This limited-edition item is available for purchase to start or add to collections.

Several historical sites across Texas will host events celebrating the holidays in December. On December 7, the Magoffin Home State Historic Site in El Paso invites visitors to experience over a century of holiday traditions during a free event from noon to 4 p.m. Guests can enjoy music, storytelling, crafts, and even play an antique piano dating back to 1881.
Also on December 7, the Bush Family Home State Historic Site in Midland offers a hands-on activity where guests can create gingerbread ornaments from 1-3 p.m., with tours available at regular admission prices.
From December 13-22, Kreische Brewery State Historic Site in La Grange will feature evening light displays from 5:30 to 8 p.m., with special "Festival Nights" on select weekends including living history programs and visits with Santa.
Fort McKavett State Historic Site will host a Victorian Christmas Fair on December 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring historical vignettes and activities such as craft making and caroling.
