Rep. Lacey Hull has announced the filing of eight additional bills targeting child welfare, healthcare accessibility and affordability, as well as personal freedom and entrepreneurship. The announcement was made in a February 10 post on X.
According to the press release, Hull introduced HB 2216 to reform child welfare procedures by modifying due process protections for families involved with the Department of Family and Protective Services. Additionally, HB 2221 allows life and health insurers to offer value-added services similar to those permitted for property and casualty policies. HB 2254 enables value-based contracts between physicians and insurers, allowing primary care providers to focus on patient health without complex billing requirements.
HB 2580 directs the Texas Department of Insurance to study health benefit coverage for traumatic brain injury treatments. HB 2581 aims to enhance data collection for the Thriving Texas Families Program by standardizing reporting from service providers assisting women and children. Furthermore, HB 2582 ensures crime victims have access to parole details about offenders, including county location and stay-away orders.

Hull's legislative efforts also include HB 2583, which assists employers by allowing insurers to refund health premiums for employees who are no longer with the company. Known as the "Food Freedom Act," HB 2588 aims to ease regulatory burdens on cottage food operations while maintaining safety standards.
