The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has opened applications for the Texas Clean Fleet Program (TCFP). The program offers an estimated $16 million in grant funding to fleet owners in Texas. The aim is to encourage the replacement of aging diesel vehicles with new hybrid or alternative fuel vehicles. Grants can cover up to 80% of the cost of acquiring new vehicles.

Eligible applicants must own and operate a fleet consisting of at least 75 on-road vehicles within Texas and must propose replacing a minimum of 10 vehicles with ones powered by electricity, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, hydrogen, propane, or a mixture containing at least 85% methanol by volume (M85).

Those interested in applying can find detailed eligibility requirements and application instructions on the TCFP website. Applications are being accepted until March 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. CST.

Further information about other emission reduction grant programs offered by TCEQ is available at www.terpgrants.org. Inquiries can also be made via phone at 800-919-TERP (8377) or email at TERP@tceq.texas.gov.
