Governor Greg Abbott has extended his congratulations to the City of Pearland for being named a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community. This recognition, awarded by Travel Texas, marks Pearland as the seventh community to receive such certification in the program's inaugural year. "Tourism is critical to both our local and state economies, supporting one in 11 jobs across Texas," stated Governor Abbott. He noted that travel within Texas generated an economic impact of over $193.8 billion and supported 1.3 million jobs statewide in 2023. "I congratulate the City of Pearland and Visit Pearland on earning this designation," he added.
Travel Texas Director Tim Fennell praised Pearland for its family-friendly events and welcoming atmosphere, stating, "Pearland delivers memorable experiences for visitors of all ages."
