Texas DPS names Miguel Gomez as November's featured fugitive

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced Miguel Gomez as the Featured Fugitive for November. Gomez, who is part of the Texas 10 Most Wanted list, has a reward set at $8,500 for information leading to his arrest if received within this month.

Miguel Angel Gomez, aged 51 and from Houston, has been sought by authorities in Harris County since 2022 on charges of murder. His criminal history includes a conviction in 2009 for sexual assault of a child involving a 16-year-old female, resulting in a 15-year sentence in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison. Additionally, he has previous convictions for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary-related offenses. Since December 2022, he has also been wanted for violating parole.

Gomez is described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He bears tattoos on various parts of his body including his neck, hands, left leg, and arm. Scars are visible on his face, lip, and left forearm.

The Governor’s Public Safety Office funds Texas Crime Stoppers which offers cash rewards to individuals providing information that leads to the capture of fugitives listed among Texas’ Most Wanted Fugitives or Sex Offenders. In the current year alone, DPS along with other agencies have apprehended forty individuals from this list including fifteen sex offenders and ten gang members. The efforts have resulted in $24,000 being awarded for tips that facilitated these arrests.
