Texas Sen. Brandon Creighton said rural Texas holds traditional values like hard work, integrity, and faith, while larger metropolitan areas often embrace leftist policies similar to those implemented by leaders like Gavin Newsom, including support for gender reassignment surgeries for minors. Creighton was a guest on a recent episode of the Texas Talks Podcast.
“Rural Texas is conservative and has old-time Texas values of hard work, integrity, and character matters, and people of faith, and on and on," said Creighton in a recent edition of the Texas Talks Podcast.
“Your bigger metropolitan areas have people from all over the world," said Creighton. “Certainly, many people with those core Texas values, sure, but also many that just don't share those particular values. They seem to have the political infrastructure that supports this union mentality, these leftist policies that we see implemented by Gavin Newsom in California or as mayor of San Francisco. These policies in Seattle, where Seattle Children's Hospital leads the nation in gender reassignment surgeries for those under the age of 18."
Creighton is a Texas state senator representing District 4, which includes parts of Montgomery, Harris, Chambers, Jefferson, and Galveston counties. Prior to his Senate role, he served as a state representative for District 16 and was elected chairman of the Texas House Republican Caucus.
