John Hryhorchuk, senior vice president of policy at Texas 2036, said they've supported over 100 bills, including reforms to the school fund, pension system, and infrastructure, saving taxpayers billions. Hryhorchuk was a guest on a recent episode of the Texas Talks Podcast.
“We've been involved in a lot of bills that have become law, helping with the research or data work behind informing some big solutions," said Hryhorchuk in a recent edition of the Texas Talks Podcast. “We've been involved in more than a hundred bills that we've supported, which have become law. There are things out there that are as big as completely overhauling how our permanent school fund is structured, leading to record investment returns right now, and being involved in the state's pension reform efforts in 2021, which is saving tens of billions of dollars for Texas taxpayers.”
“We've been involved in helping to improve public education, healthcare price transparency, reduce the state's uninsured rate, and many of the major infrastructure investments you saw last session regarding water, state parks, or broadband," said Hryhorchuk.
Hryhorchuk is the senior vice president of policy and advocacy at Texas 2036, a non-partisan think tank based in Austin. He previously served as deputy director of budget and policy for Governor Greg Abbott.
