John Hryhorchuk, the senior vice president of policy and advocacy at Texas 2036, said the organization uses data to address Texas' challenges and develop solutions aimed at ensuring the state's prosperity through its bicentennial and beyond, and that there is a need for a bold vision of sustained growth. Hryhorchuk was a guest on a recent episode of the Texas Talks Podcast.
“I'm just saying what Texas 2036 does," said Hryhorchukin a recent edition of the Texas Talks Podcast. “We use data to identify the most pressing challenges that face our state, as well as the most promising solutions to address those challenges, with the goal of continuing our state's prosperity to our bicentennial in 2036 and beyond. Beyond as long as the board, and hopefully, it's not just the bicentennial. I guess the next would be the tricentennial.”
“I think a lot about, you know, this concept of the Texas miracle, and people thinking about it in terms as though it's this fleeting thing," said Hryhorchuk. “I think we need to have Texans have a much bolder concept that it's not just a miracle; we've earned this, and we can continue putting the policies in place to drive our prosperity throughout the century."
Hryhorchuk is the senior vice president of policy and advocacy at Texas 2036, a non-partisan think tank based in Austin. He previously served as deputy director of budget and policy for Governor Greg Abbott.
