The Texas Restaurant Association (TRA) provided a five-point recap from its and the Texas Restaurant Foundation’s September 2024 board meetings, which were held in Galveston.
At least 120 people, including Texas State Senator Mayes Middleton (R-Galveston), attended on September 17.
According to a press release issued by the TRA, the board meetings consisted of in-depth advocacy planning sessions, educational sessions from industry leaders, valuable networking time, and a visit from Middleton himself.
The TRA reported that attendees learned the industry faces critical advocacy opportunities on the horizon, with the next Texas legislative session set to begin in a few months.
Industry veteran Mark Brezinski said that foodservice businesses must stay innovative by following what’s been described as the four C’s: courage, curiosity, conviction, and capital.
The TRA also announced two new partnerships with Tab Commerce and EZCater and revealed that it made significant gains this year.
In response to economic headwinds projected to last through next year, the organization is doubling down on its mission-critical activities throughout the Lone Star State.
Established in 1937, the TRA serves as the advocate and indispensable resource for the foodservice industry in Texas.
