A September 6 evening traffic stop in northwest Texas resulted in a drug seizure executed by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). The incident occurred near Conway in Carson County shortly after 5 p.m.

According to a September 9 press release attributed to DPS, a Texas Highway Patrol trooper pulled over a vehicle along the eastbound portion of Interstate 40 (I-40) for a traffic violation. Shortly afterward, the trooper found multiple plastic-wrapped blocks of cocaine and one plastic-wrapped bag of fentanyl in the vehicle.

Special agents from DPS and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) were summoned to the scene to assist with the investigation.

The motorist was identified as 40-year-old Stephanie Davis of Roanoke, Virginia, who was arrested and booked into the Carson County Jail for felony possession of a controlled substance, according to the release.

DPS alleged that Davis attempted to transport more than 16 pounds of suspected cocaine and nearly two pounds of suspected fentanyl between Roanoke and Corona, California.
