Texas Association of Manufacturers (TAM) President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tony Bennett praised "the work of the Texas legislature and the Public Utility Commission (PUC) and staff to bolster grid reliability and expand dispatchable generation in our growing state."

In a statement released by TAM, Bennett commended the PUC’s progress on the Texas Energy Fund’s (TEF) proposed generation projects, which total a portfolio of 17 projects.

The TEF was proposed by lawmakers and approved by voters last fall with the purpose of encouraging investments in on-demand generation projects.

According to the statement, the projects that will proceed through the TEF’s In-ERCOT Generation Loan program account for 9,781 MW in potential new generation and $5.38 billion in requested TEF loaned funds.

Bennett said that TAM anticipates the groundbreaking of each project and is confident that the PUC will ensure that the fund is used efficiently.
