The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) has announced its inductees for the 2024 Texas Housing Hall of Honor. The current class includes three individuals: Randy Birdwell, Larry Johnson, and Harold Peek.

According to a July 18 press release issued by the TAB, Birdwell, Johnson, and Peek were voted into the Hall by the Texas Housing Hall of Honor Board of Governors.

They will be honored at the Excellence in Leadership Dinner on November 20 at the Hyatt Lost Pines in Bastrop.

Birdwell amassed a 40-year career in production home building. Known as someone who has permanently changed the landscape of the Texas housing industry, Birdwell is a company owner, president, chief executive officer, chairman, and professor. In 1993, he was named the inaugural Builder of the Year by the Texas Builders Conference (TBC).

Johnson played a role in community development in the Houston region and beyond. He was the namesake of Johnson Development, which earned a reputation as a powerhouse in building master-planned communities that include resort amenities, schools, and public spaces. Johnson passed away in 2022.

Peek is considered a pioneering figure in Dallas's construction industry through his work with Peek Properties. In the late 1970s, he was instrumental in advocating for increased mortgage limits and served as mayor of Dallas suburb University Park from 1998 to 2004.
