The Riverside Apartments in Waco have undergone a significant transformation, thanks to the support of various organizations and partners. Through the efforts of TDHCA's 4% Housing Tax Credit Program, $1.1 million in tax credits were awarded to help renovate the 152-unit property, with an estimated total value of $11 million over a 10-year term.
"This is a revival of pride for a community," expressed Waco Councilwoman, Andrea Barefield. "It’s the voice of residents that matter and helped restore dignity to this property and their homes."
The collaborative efforts of City of Waco leaders, the Waco Housing Authority, TDHCA, the Monroe Group, Steele Properties, and other partners were celebrated at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 17. "This was a huge effort," emphasized Waco Housing Authority’s Milet Hopping. "Preservation of affordable housing is very important to the City of Waco."
Located at 1700 Dallas Circle in Waco, the Riverside Apartments now stand as a testament to the positive impact of community involvement and support. For more information about the property, individuals are encouraged to contact (254) 708-0101 or visit the Monroe Group's website.
