Greg Sindelar, CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, said it's crucial to assess government spending and services, particularly comparing the cost of services and what residents get in return. Sindelar was a guest on a recent episode of the Texas Talks Podcast.
"People care about how much we're paying the city manager here because we feel like we're not getting the ROI that we want and we desire out of our city government when it comes to public safety, cleanliness, and the basic functions of city government," said Sindelar on a recent edition of the Texas Talks Podcast.
“For example, in Austin, we only pick up recycling every other week, but my parents are in Fort Worth, and they get it every week, and the trash comes twice a week," said Sindelar.
"Certain things like make us wonder, 'well, wait, but I actually pay more taxes than you do. How does all of that work? What am I actually getting for the money?' And I think that's why it matters."
Sindelar, CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation since 2021. Under his leadership, the Foundation has seen over 25% growth annually.
