Texas Restaurant Association announces 2024 board of directors

The Texas Restaurant Association (TRA) and the Texas Restaurant Foundation (TRF) have unveiled their 2024 board officers and directors. The incoming board comprises 10 new TRA Board Directors and 5 new TRF Board Trustees.

The Texas Restaurant Association, as described on its website, is a business association in Texas that represents the $95 billion foodservice industry. This industry spans more than 55,000 locations in Texas and employs approximately 1.4 million Texans.

In a press release dated Dec. 12, the TRA announced its new board of directors. The members include Chair Don "Skeeter" Miller, owner and president of County Line BBQ; Vice Chair Chris Aslam, owner and CEO of Rock Strategic Restaurant Group; Treasurer Ellis Winstanley, owner and CEO of El Arroyo (Austin); Allison Balfour, owner of Southerleigh Hospitality (San Antonio); Rose Broussard, co-owner of Off The Bone (Dallas); Chelsea Cace, owner of The Cace Kitchen (Tyler); Kyle Citrano, managing partner of George's Restaurant (Waco); Yolando Franco, owner of Western Sky Steakhouse (San Angelo); Rena Lee Frost, chef and owner of Mac's on Main and Mac's Bar & Grill (Dallas); Abby Krolczyk, director of sales at Kesco Supply (College Station); Gregg Majewski, CEO at Craveworthy Brands (Dallas); Paul Miller, owner at GR8 Plate Hospitality (Houston), and Larry Reinstein, founder at LJR Hospitality (Dallas).

As per its website information from 1994, the TRF was established by the TRA as a non-profit organization under section 501c3. Its mission is to provide resources to help restaurateurs address educational and labor challenges. The TRF develops innovative ideas in technology and education while aiming to discover and implement updated training techniques.

According to the press release, the TRF board of trustees comprises 32 voting members. In 2024, the board of trustees will be led by Chair Russell Woodward, director of foodservice and industry relations at Nolan Ryan Foods; Vice Chair David Cole, i Fratelli Pizza; Treasurer Melissa Doolin-Koehne, vice president of business development for Black Box Intelligence. The new board members are Erik Dickison, vice president of sales at Tripleseat Software (Dallas); Elizabeth Fauerso, principle at EBF Development and Design Studio (San Antonio); Tom Foley, founder at Indigo Group (Dallas); Fernando Perez, head of operations at Pollo Campero (Dallas); April Zamora, division director of Reentry and Integration at Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
