Governor Greg Abbott acknowledged the efforts of Texans and Texas employers following the release of March 2025 employment data, highlighting Texas as the nation’s leader in job creation over the past 12 months. According to the latest figures, Texas has achieved new records in total jobs, employment, and labor force size.

"Texas leads the nation in job creation thanks to our booming economy and highly skilled workforce," stated Governor Abbott. "Every month, Texas welcomes businesses from across the country and around the world to innovate and invest in our great state. By funding our schools more than ever before and expanding career and technical training programs, we will prepare more Texans for better job and bigger paycheck opportunities to build a more prosperous Texas.”

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, along with the Texas Workforce Commission, reported:

- Texas's labor force reached 15,778,500, marking a historic high.

- The number of Texans working, including the self-employed, reached 15,137,500.

- Total nonfarm jobs in Texas rose to 14,282,600 after the addition of 26,500 jobs in March.

- Texas added 192,100 nonfarm jobs from March 2024 to March 2025, outpacing all other states and exceeding national growth rates.

Governor Abbott recently announced over $1.3 million in job training grants to the Collin County Community College District. These funds are intended for customized workforce training programs targeting high-demand fields like healthcare, accounting, and manufacturing. Earlier this year, he identified career training expansion as a priority during the legislative session. The Texas House of Representatives has advanced House Bill 20 and House Bill 120 to support career and technical education initiatives, aiming to help graduates secure well-paying jobs.

Additionally, Governor Abbott acknowledged the Texas House for its historic decision to provide increased funding for public education with the passage of House Bill 2.
