These legislative measures aim to improve instructional quality, student opportunities, and veteran mental health. The announcement was made in a press release on April 17, 2025.
According to the press release, the Texas House of Representatives passed several bills to enhance education and veteran support. House Bill 100 ensures instructional materials align with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and prevents state or local funds from being spent on rejected materials. Additionally, House Bill 2 increases public education funding by $7.7 billion, focusing on teacher pay, special education, early childhood education, and rural schools.

The press release also states that Senate Bill 2 establishes a school choice program with accountability safeguards. Additionally, several bills were passed to support veterans and military students. House Bill 39 addresses veteran suicide prevention, while House Bill 102 ensures early registration for ROTC and military-track students. Other bills include HB 6, HB 20, and HB 120 which enhance teacher authority, expand dual credit opportunities, and increase funding for career and technical education programs.
