TCEQ issues $304,223 in fines for environmental violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties amounting to $260,076 for 21 entities found in violation of state environmental regulations. These violations span several enforcement categories including air quality, industrial wastewater discharge, multi-media, municipal wastewater discharge, petroleum storage tanks, and public water systems.

The enforcement actions resulted in agreed orders issued in various categories: two air quality, one industrial wastewater discharge, two multi-media, one municipal wastewater discharge, three petroleum storage tanks, and eleven public water systems. Additionally, a default order was issued for a municipal solid waste violation.

On April 8 and April 15, TCEQ's executive director approved penalties consisting of $44,147 against 25 entities.
