Governor Abbott names Timmerman and Patton to Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission

Governor Greg Abbott has made key appointments to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission. Tim Timmerman was appointed and Bobby Patton was reappointed, each serving terms that are set to expire on February 1, 2031. Tim Timmerman, who resides in Austin, leads Timmerman Capital LLC, along with various real estate investment and development businesses. He serves as president of the Colorado River Land Trust and holds positions on boards such as the Central Texas Community Foundation, Austin Area Research Organization, and YMCA of Central Texas. He is also associated with the Texas Business Leadership Council, has membership in the Texas A&M University Chancellor’s Century Council, and belongs to the Texas A&M Legacy Society. Timmerman's past roles include vice chairman of St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center and board member of the Austin Chamber of Commerce. Timmerman is an alumnus of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Bobby Patton, from Fort Worth, is the president of Texas Capitalization Resource Group, Inc. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, contributing to the UT Development Board, UT Marine Science Institute, and the UT Liberal Arts Advisory Council. Additionally, Patton serves as a director for the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo and was formerly the chairman of the PGA Tournament Committee for Charles Schwab. Patton’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from UT Austin, a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s Law School, and a Master of Laws from SMU's Dedman School of Law.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission is responsible for managing and conserving Texas's natural and cultural resources, offering hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation opportunities for current and future generations. These appointments remain subject to confirmation by the Texas Senate.
