Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT) has announced that its President and CEO, Pablo Vegas, will join PJM President and CEO Manu Asthana in the opening Energy Insights conversation at the second annual ERCOT Innovation Summit. The event is scheduled for May 6 in Round Rock, Texas.
Manu Asthana leads the largest power grid in North America and one of the world's largest electricity markets. He brings extensive leadership experience across various sectors of the electricity industry, including grid management, power generation, competitive retail, trading, and risk management. Asthana expressed his enthusiasm for participating in the summit: "I am excited to join colleagues at the Innovation Summit to explore how we can collectively maintain reliability during rapidly evolving industry dynamics."
The summit aims to gather leaders to share ideas and technological advancements while collaborating on innovative solutions for grid transformation both in Texas and nationwide. Pablo Vegas emphasized the importance of collaboration: "As the electric industry continues to rapidly evolve, collaboration and ongoing discussions with our industry peers to share ideas is critical," he said. "In this spirit of collaboration, I am honored to open the Summit with Mr. Asthana to share insights and discuss how, as leaders of an ISO and an RTO, we are adapting to and managing the complexities of our rapidly changing grids."
Registration for attending in person closes on April 18. Further details about agenda updates, speaker bios, panel sessions, FAQs, and general information can be found on ERCOT's website.
