For more than a year, several law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), have been investigating individuals allegedly tied to the Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua (TdA).

Recently, the FBI obtained intelligence suggesting a possible gathering of suspected TdA members in Hays County, prompting further action.

Early Tuesday, a coordinated effort by the Hays County Sheriff's Office, DPS, and various federal agencies led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Hays County by DPS's Special Response Team. Over 40 individuals, including minors, were detained, and narcotics were seized during the operation.

State and federal prosecutors will examine the evidence to consider potential charges stemming from the search and ensuing investigation.
