Governor Abbott appoints three to TTU System Board

Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Doug McReaken and Donald R. Sinclair, along with the reappointment of Dusty Womble, to the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents. Their terms will conclude on January 31, 2031.

Doug McReaken, based in Pearland, holds several leadership roles including chief operating officer and executive vice president at Media Riders, Inc., chairman of the Board for Sno Country, Inc. and Texas Waste Co., as well as president of multiple enterprises such as McReaken & Associates and McReaken Agriculture, LLC. He is actively involved in various community services like the Houston Livestock Show and Pearland Lions Club. McReaken graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Texas Tech University (TTU).

Donald R. Sinclair from Houston is recognized for his extensive career in the energy sector spanning four decades. Currently a private investor, he also serves on boards for two energy companies and is an officer with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors. His involvement with TTU includes membership in the Bob L. Herd Academy of Petroleum Engineering and previous chairmanships at the Rawls College of Business Advisory Council and Texas Tech Foundation, Inc. Sinclair earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from TTU.

Dusty Womble resides in Lubbock where he co-founded Masked Rider Capital and chairs Service Compression, LLC. His past service includes roles on advisory boards for both Rawls Business School and Texas Tech Foundation Executive Board. Presently, he participates on the BIG XII Advisory Board and Lubbock Christian School Board. Womble's academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from TTU; he was honored as a distinguished alumnus by Rawls College in 2022.

The appointments await confirmation by the Senate.
