U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently apprehended Julio Cesar Henao-Cordoba, a Colombian national, in State College. Henao-Cordoba, 38, is wanted by Panamanian authorities for the aggravated rape of a child. The arrest took place outside his residence on March 14.

"The arrest of Julio Cesar Henao-Cordoba demonstrates ICE's dedication to protecting the most vulnerable members of our communities — our children," stated Brian McShane, acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Philadelphia. "ICE remains steadfast in its mission to apprehend individuals accused of such heinous crimes, ensuring they are held accountable and that our neighborhoods remain safe for all."

The warrant for Henao's arrest was issued by Panama on September 2, 2020. He was initially detained by the U.S. Border Patrol near Eagle Pass, Texas, on May 26, 2022, after entering the United States without proper admission or parole from an immigration official. Following his detention, he was transferred to ICE custody and placed in an alternatives to detention program before being paroled into the country.

Henao later reported to ICE in York, Pennsylvania, on August 23, 2022. At that time, he received a notice to appear on charges of inadmissibility and was removed from the alternatives to detention program due to his residence being outside the program’s range.

Following his recent arrest in State College, Henao has been detained at Clinton County Correctional Facility located in McElhattan, Pennsylvania.

The public is encouraged to report any related crimes or suspicious activities through the ICE Tip Line at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or via their online tip form.
