Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the first of the 2025 Governor’s Small Business Summits will take place in Uvalde on March 27. These summits, scheduled throughout the year across various regions in Texas, are designed to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with essential resources and information.

“Small businesses are the cornerstone of our vibrant communities and the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy,” said Governor Abbott. “With more than 3.3 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region. Together, we will ensure that our small business community continues to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas.”

The Uvalde summit aims to gather local, state, and federal resource partners to provide insights on crucial business topics. Participants will have opportunities for networking with other business owners and can learn from experts offering advice on various small business subjects.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at SSGT. Willie de Leon Civic Center in Uvalde, TX. The agenda includes sessions such as "Getting Started — Small Business 101," "Financing the Future — Access to Funding for Growing Businesses," and "Building Your Brand — Targeted Marketing & Social Media Techniques." Registration costs $20 and covers access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots.

Registration is also open for future summit locations throughout the year including Orange on April 24; Denison on May 15; Sugar Land on May 29; Hays County on June 12; Bastrop on June 26; Rockport-Fulton on July 10; Waxahachie on July 24; Pharr on August 7; Big Lake on August 21; Eagle Pass on September 11; Carthage on September 25; Dalhart on October 9; Denton (Women-Focused Event) on October 23; and Belton (Veteran-Focused Event) on November 13.
