Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller has expressed his support for U.S. Representative Jodey Arrington's initiatives aimed at improving healthcare access in rural areas. As the overseer of the Texas State Office of Rural Health, Miller emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare for rural communities.

Miller highlighted the significance of the Telehealth Expansion Act, which seeks to make healthcare more accessible by allowing individuals with high-deductible health plans to receive telehealth services without incurring high out-of-pocket costs. He noted that this is particularly beneficial in Texas, where rural residents often face long travel times to see a doctor.

Additionally, Miller endorsed the Second Chances for Rural Hospitals Act. This legislation would enable closed hospitals to convert into Rural Emergency Hospitals, providing essential emergency and outpatient services to underserved areas. "No American should ever choose between their health and the distance it takes to reach care," Miller stated.

He affirmed his support for Congressman Arrington and his bipartisan coalition in advancing these reforms, emphasizing that healthcare is fundamental to rural prosperity.
