Sid Miller reappoints four members to Texas Agriculture Finance Authority board

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller has announced the reappointment of four members to the Texas Agriculture Finance Authority (TAFA) Board. TAFA is a public authority that offers financial assistance for the expansion of Texas agricultural products, production, processing, marketing, and exporting.

“Thank you to our Texas Agricultural Finance Authority Board members for stepping up to serve,” Commissioner Miller stated. “Your knowledge and expertise will significantly assist Texas agriculture as we develop and administer programs that support our agricultural producers and strengthen rural communities across the state.”

The reappointed members are:

Ted F. Conover from Tyler continues as the Board’s chairman and agricultural lending representative. He was previously president and CEO of Heritage Land Bank from 1985 to 2005 and held similar roles at the Bank of Tyler until 2010. Conover has served on various committees, including those at East Texas A&M University. He holds a master's degree in general agriculture from East Texas A&M University.

Lee Norman from Post remains as the Board’s elected official representative. He has been a county judge for Garza County since 2007 with 35 years of farming experience. Norman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University.

Aaron Wiechman from Austin continues on the Board as an agricultural lending representative. Currently, he is senior vice president and chief lending officer at Farm Credit Bank. Wiechman holds an MBA from Baker University.

Samuel Brian McCuistion from Fort Worth stays as the Board’s trade association representative. He manages Viterra Grain USA's Saginaw location, which buys Texas-grown wheat. McCuistion graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Texas A&M University.
