Texas State Rep. David Spiller said the country faces a significant threat from open borders, with human trafficking and terrorists entering at record levels, warning that another 9/11-scale attack could happen due to the unchecked influx. Spiller was a guest on a recent episode of the Texas Talks podcast.

“We've had enough fentanyl coming to our country to kill every man, woman, or child in the country," said Spiller on a recent edition of the Texas Talks Podcast. “We have, and we know that so many people, especially young people, have lost their lives to that. It's a huge threat, a huge problem. Aside from that, we have human trafficking at a level we've never seen before. Women and children are being trafficked, and our federal government is just turning a blind eye to it because that's one of the effects of open borders.”

“We're talking about documented terrorists coming in at record levels, and those are just the ones we know about,” said Spiller. “We don't even know what we don't know. We know others are coming in. But I've said, unfortunately, we're going to have another 9/11-type event in this country, and it's going to make 9/11 look like a bottle rocket. There are so many terrorists pouring into our country that we're going to have a problem.”

Spiller, a conservative Republican representing Texas House District 68, has practiced law for over 35 years at Spiller & Spiller, now alongside his two sons. He has served as city attorney for Jacksboro and general counsel for the Jack County Hospital District for over 30 years and is a credentialed advanced mediator.

Texas Talks podcast is hosted by Brad Swail. The weekly show is focused on public policy in the state of Texas, with insights from the people and organizations that influence it.
