The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is alerting the public about the recall of Diamond Shruumz brand products following reports of severe illness among consumers. Two individuals in Texas have reported illness after consuming these products, with one requiring hospitalization. Nationwide, 69 cases and 36 hospitalizations have been reported across 28 states in connection with this outbreak.

The recalled products include Diamond Shruumz brand chocolate bars, cones, and gummies. These items are marketed as containing a proprietary blend of mushrooms and may also contain undisclosed ingredients potentially linked to severe illness. They have been sold by various retailers, including local smoke/vape shops, Amazon, and other online outlets. DSHS has informed Texas retailers about the recall and advises consumers to discard any remaining products.

DSHS urges individuals who have consumed the recalled Diamond Shruumz products and are experiencing symptoms to seek medical attention immediately. Severe symptoms include seizures, loss of consciousness, and respiratory failure. Other reported adverse effects encompass hallucinations, uncontrolled movements, variations in heart rate and blood pressure, flushed skin, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, confusion, and sleepiness.

These products may appeal to children and teenagers; therefore, parents and caregivers should discuss the recall with their children and ensure these items are not consumed by younger individuals.
