Bryan Sunderland, director of advocacy at the Cicero Institute, said that Cicero analyzes public policy and collaborates with lawmakers and policymakers to achieve transparent, accountable government and address inefficiencies in public systems. Sunderland was a guest on a recent episode of the Texas Talks Podcast.

"Cicero is a nonpartisan, nonprofit public policy organization," said Sunderland on a recent edition of the Texas Talks Podcast. “We have deep talent when it comes to digging into public policy, figuring out what states can do better. We also have a separate 501C4 arm that helps lawmakers and aligned policymakers get those things accomplished.”

“Cicero was founded on a couple of principles: the idea that we need to have transparent, accountable government," said Sunderland. “You can boil that all down to we believe in government competence, and a lot of our public systems right now seem broken to a lot of people. We throw billions of dollars away trying to solve problems just to throw more money at them. And we think there’s a better way.”

Sunderland serves as the Director of Advocacy for the Cicero Institute. The Cicero Institute is a nonpartisan public policy organization specializing in government, legislation, law, technology, and entrepreneurship. They focus on developing and promoting state-level policies aimed at restoring liberty, accountability, and innovation in American governance.

Texas Talks podcast is hosted by Brad Swail. The weekly show is focused on public policy in the state of Texas, with insights from the people and organizations that influence it.
