A graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and Vanderbilt University where he earned his law degree, Abbott is currently serving his third term as governor.
Further information from the Office of the Texas Governor outlines that Operation Lone Star encompasses various objectives. On January ninth alone, it transported 100,000 migrants across the country to relieve towns heavily populated with immigrants along the border. These migrants were moved to 'sanctuary cities,' including Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City. The operation continues its active role in securing and maintaining safety at the border.
