With the Republican primary approaching Tuesday, March 3, Texan voters will be asked to vote on 10 propositions included on the ballot.
Republican voters will be asked to answer yes or no to the following propositions:
Proposition One: Prayer in Texas schools shouldn’t be limited or forbidden.
Proposition Two: The state should oppose restrictions on the right to bear and keep arms.
Proposition Three: Lobbying funded by taxpayers should be prohibited in Texas.
Proposition Four: A physical wall between Texas and Mexico and defensive surveillance on the border should be supported by Texas.
Proposition Five: Parents and legal guardians in Texas should make all health care decisions for their children. Psychological treatment, contraception and sex education are some health care decisions that fall under this.
Proposition Six: The state should ban chemical castration, genital mutilation surgery and other transition procedures on all minor children.
Proposition Seven: Historical sites, artifacts, monuments and buildings should be protected in Texas.
Proposition Eight: Illegal voters should be taken out of voter rolls in Texas and all recently registered voters should be a verified U.S. citizen.
Proposition Nine: Receiving bail in Texas should solely be based upon the danger that person holds to society, not on whether they can pay bail or not.
Proposition 10: The length of a state legislator’s term should be a maximum of 12 years in Texas.
Early voting will be on Feb. 24, 26 and 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Feb. 23 from noon to 5 p.m., and Feb. 25 and 27 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voting on Election Day will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all of the voting stations across the county.
