Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, replying to an article published by Dallas Morning News, recently issued a warning and a welcome to Californians fleeing to Texas to escape the extremely high taxes and regulations put on them.
“To the Californians moving to Texas: Remember those high taxes, burdensome regulations, & socialistic agenda advanced in CA? We don't believe in that. We believe in less government & more individual freedom. If you agree with that you'll fit right in," Greg Abbott tweeted.
The Dallas Morning News piece highlighted the large number of Californians headed to Texas, which expanded to more than one-third in the census count recorded recently. The count has grown to a stunning 86,000 Californians migrating to Texas.
Are they moving from Californa to push the same dystopian policies and agendas that they are trying to escape from? According to The Dallas Morning News, that is a question many are asking.
Cindi Bulla, 2020 chairman of Texas Realtors, confirms that at least "half a million" Californians have migrated to Texas in the last few years.
“For the sixth year in a row, more than half a million people chose Texas as their new home. And why not? In addition to its business-friendly environment with no state income tax and abundance of jobs, land, and opportunity, Texas is known for its diverse, friendly spirit and culture,” Bella told the Morning News.
