The Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) has inaugurated the National Center for Energy Analytics (NCEA), a  national energy think tank spearheaded by TPPF fellow Mark P. Mills.

According to Mills, the NCEA will provide "sober-minded, fact-based, emotion-free perspectives in energy domains." The focus will be producing unbiased research on energy issues, countering misinformation, and "ensuring a balanced and realistic approach to national energy policy debates," according to a statement by TPPF.

In the statement, Mills said it is important to avoid assumptions about the hydrocarbon infrastructures that currently supply the majority of energy in America and globally. He also pointed out potential risks associated with initiatives like the Inflation Reduction Act, which some view as a variant of the Green New Deal approach to transition away from hydrocarbons.

The NCEA's Board of Advisors includes Zabrina Johal, Terrence Keeley, Dr. Steven Koonin, Julio M. Ottino, Paul Tice, and Dr. Scott W. Tinker. Additionally, the NCEA's Senior Fellows include Tristan Abbey, Dr. Brent Bennett, Trisha Curtis, Prof. Gordon A. Hughes, Dr. Jonathan Lesser, Bret Swanson, Paul Tice, Col. Terry Virts, and Dr. Iddo K. Wernick.
